ePROTECT safety

1. Who can buy enhanced ePROTECT safety?

You can buy enhanced ePROTECT safety if you are Singaporean citizen, Permanent Resident of Singapore or foreigner with a valid Work Pass, Student Pass, Dependant’s Pass or Long Term Visit Pass, aged between 17 to 70 years old.

2. Can I buy enhanced ePROTECT safety for my children who are younger than 17 years old?

Yes, you can buy enhanced ePROTECT safety for you and your children. With this, your children will be eligible for 20% of the sum insured under your selected plan.

For the child(ren) to be eligible under this Insurance plan, the following conditions must be met:

  • The child(ren) must be a legal child including stepchild and/or legally adopted child;
  • The child(ren) must be at least 1 year of age and not more than seventeen (17) years of age, or up to 25 years for full time students in a recognised tertiary institution;
  • The child(ren) must be wholly dependent on the Proposer or his/her legal spouse for financial support;
  • The child(ren) must be must be unmarried; and
  • The plan type of the child(ren)’s coverage is (are) the same as the Proposer or his/her legal spouse’s plan.

3. Can I buy enhanced ePROTECT safety for my spouse and children?

Yes, you can.

1. How do I pay for the monthly coverage of enhanced ePROTECT safety?

For a new policy purchase, the first month premium will be deducted from your credit card via the online payment process.

If you have enrolled for auto credit card deduction for your subsequent month insurance premium, the monthly insurance premium will be automatically deducted from your designated credit card 7 days before the expiry date of the insurance protection.

If you have not enrolled for auto credit card deduction for your subsequent month insurance premium, Etiqa will send a renewal SMS with instructions on how to make your insurance premium payment via your credit card, 7 days before the expiry date of the insurance protection.

2. What happens if I don’t pay for my subsequent monthly premium?

Your insurance coverage will cease if your monthly insurance premium payment does not reach Etiqa before the expiry date of the insurance protection.

3. What happens if the auto monthly premium deduction from my credit card failed?

Etiqa will inform the policy owner if the auto monthly premium deduction from credit card has failed via SMS notification with instructions on how to make your premium payment via your credit card.

4. What can I expect to recieve upon successful payment of my subsequent months’ insurance premiums?

Etiqa will send you a payment successful SMS and you can retrieve your policy schedule in TiqConnect the next day.

1 .What is the complimentary cover provided under “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit”?

If the insured is diagnosed with COVID-19 and/or Dengue Fever in Singapore by a Medical Practitioner, we will provide a lump sum payment, subject to a maximum of S$3,000 per diagnosis.

2. Who is eligible for complimentary “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit”?

All insured with an inforce policy of enhanced ePROTECT safety insurance plan shall be provided with complimentary “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit”.

Etiqa Singapore reserves the discretion to make amendments to this complimentary benefits, its validity and eligibility requirements at any time.

3.  When does the coverage for “COVID-19″ & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” start?

The coverage period for “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” starts 14 days upon issuance/renewal of enhanced ePROTECT safety insurance plan.

However, if insured’s current complimentary cover of “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” is being extended due to purchase/renewal of enhanced ePROTECT safety insurance plan with no claims submitted for COVID-19 and/or Dengue Fever diagnosis benefit, the coverage for “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” shall continue without any waiting period.

4. When does the coverage for “COVID-19″ & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” end?

The complimentary cover for “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” will automatically expire:

-When the insured’s enhanced ePROTECT safety insurance coverage ends, or
-upon paying out both Diagnosis Benefit for COVID-19 and Diagnosis Benefit for dengue fever for the period of insurance,

whichever is earlier.

5. Am I covered if I am diagnosed with the covered disease for the second time?

The complimentary cover for the covered disease will expire upon covered disease benefit payment within the same coverage period. For example, upon benefit payment of S$3,000 for COVID-19 confirmed diagnosis, complimentary cover for COVID-19 will then expire for that period of insurance.

If the insured’s current complimentary cover of “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” is being extended due to a renewal of enhanced ePROTECT safety insurance plan, the coverage for “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” shall continue, subject to a 14-day waiting period from the start date of your extended coverage.

6. If I am diagnosed with COVID-19 and dengue fever at the same time, can I make a lump sum claim for both?

Yes, in the unfortunate event that you are diagnosed with both COVID-19 and dengue fever within the same period of insurance, you will be entitled to a lump sum payment of S$6,000. The complimentary cover for both COVID-19 and dengue fever will then expire for that period of insurance.

7. If I am currently serving a Leave of Absence, Stay-Home Notice or Quarantine Order as directed by MOH, will I still be eligible for complimentary “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit”? 

You will not be entitled for complimentary “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” during the period of Leave of Absence, Stay-Home Notice or Quarantine Order. However, once you are negatively tested after the period of leave or quarantine, you will then be eligible to enjoy the complimentary cover for “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” provided under enhanced ePROTECT safety.

8. I have bought multiple enhanced ePROTECT safety insurance plan with Etiqa Singapore. Will I be entitled to multiple payments under the complimentary “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit”?

You are entitled to a maximum benefit payment of S$3,000 for Diagnosis Benefit for COVID-19 and/or S$3,000 for Diagnosis Benefit for dengue fever. The total maximum payable amount under the complimentary “COVID-19 & Dengue Cover Diagnosis Benefit” is S$6,000 per eligible insured.

9. Will I be entitled to the complimentary cover if my confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis is made outside of Singapore? 

No, we will only cover cases diagnosed with COVID-19 or dengue fever in Singapore by a Medical Practitioner.

10. How do I make a claim for COVID-19 and/or dengue fever diagnosis benefit?

Alternatively, if you have TiqConnect (online self-service) account, you may log onto your TiqConnect account for fast and easy submission of claims. Otherwise, you may register for an account on Etiqa’s website. Access can be created immediately.

Submissions for claims must be accompanied by proof of diagnosis or medical certification issued by hospitals or Medical Practitioner specifying the diagnosis of COVID-19 or dengue fever. We reserve the right to ask for other supporting documents, if necessary, for claims assessment.
